Sevilla Officially Announces Fran González’s Signing

Sevilla has officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Fran González from Real Madrid until 2031. The young goalkeeper joins the team through an agreement that includes a re-purchase clause by the white club.

Details of the Transfer

González is Sevilla's sixth signing this season, following Juan Iglesias, Guridi, Sangante, Julio Díaz and Odysseas (a new loan). The Leonese goalkeeper has already joined the team’s training camp in Garderen, Netherlands.

The transfer was made through an initial payment of one million euros plus variables, with a 50% stake in the player. Additionally, Sevilla includes re-purchase clauses for a price ranging from three to five million in the next three transfer windows.

Fran González’s Goodbye to Real Madrid

González, who made his debut with Real Madrid's first team during the 2025/26 season, expressed his feelings through social media. In an emotional message, González thanked the club and all its members.

"Today I have to say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to me. Real Madrid, as I would tell my friends, My Madrid", he wrote on social media. "I leave with the peace of mind knowing that I gave everything to wear this badge..."

The goalkeeper expressed his gratitude towards Thibaut Courtois and other team members, highlighting the support received during his time at Real Madrid. "Thanks for putting up with all my curiosities, the thousand questions you always asked me... Thanks for your patience and everything you taught me", he wrote.

Fran González in Sevilla

González will compete with Odysseas for the starting position. The young goalkeeper made his debut with Real Madrid's first team in a single match against Valencia at Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

The agreement between the two clubs is similar to that used to sign Julio Díaz and customary in Real Madrid operations. González arrives with the intention of fighting for an important position in Sevilla, where he hopes to continue growing as a player.
