San Mamés will host a triple tribute to seven Athletic legends before the match against Sevilla. A minute of silence will be reserved for the legend Carmelo Cedrún, and accolades will be given to Simón, Laporte, Nico Williams, Luis de la Fuente, Gurtubay and Vega.

Tribute to the Legend

The minute of silence will turn into applause for the memory of Carmelo Cedrún, who played 404 matches for the club over 14 seasons. His trophy cabinet includes one league title, one Copa Eva Duarte and three cups, including the historic “Once Aldeanos” in 1958, when they beat Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.

Recognition of Triumphs

Before the first whistle, Unai Simón, Laporte and Nico Williams, accompanied by former coach Luis de la Fuente, will step onto the pitch to receive recognition for the World Cup victory. The tribute highlights these players’ contributions to the club’s glory.

Youth Celebration

Elene Gurtubay and Ziara Vega, European U-19 champions, will also be honored for their success at the European Championship. The players will wear black armbands in the match as a symbol of respect and pride.
