Sevilla FC has reignited its interest in Argentine winger Exequiel Zeballos in the final intense phase of the transfer window. The La Liga club has again inquired about the 24-year-old Boca Juniors player as it seeks to strengthen its flanks.
Managed by Matías Almeyda, the team has started the season with two wins and sits fourth in the table, just one point behind leaders Alavés. Having scored five goals and conceded two, the sporting direction is looking to add more attacking depth, especially with the probable departure of Rubén Vargas and the 10-million-euro transfer of Oso to Strasbourg nearly complete.
Sevilla's priority in these final market days is to reinforce the winger positions. The team currently only has Alfon, Chidera Ejuke, and Miguel Sierra to cover those roles, a number considered insufficient for the long campaign. The club had considered other options like Bryan Zaragoza, Bryan Gil, or Gabri Martínez, but the Zeballos possibility has resurfaced strongly.
The interest is not new. Now, with the player in a delicate contractual situation, the opportunity presents itself again.
Exequiel Zeballos's contract with Boca Juniors expires in December of this year, and he has rejected all renewal proposals presented by the club.
