Sevilla FC Genuine is preparing for its debut in LaLiga Genuine with a supportive visit from club president José María del Nido Carrasco. The Sevilla chief attended a training session at the sports city to convey his pride to the team that will represent the club in the national social inclusion tournament.
Del Nido Carrasco spent time with the players and coaching staff during the preparatory session. "It is a tremendous pride," the president stated regarding the team's participation in the competition. The ninth edition of LaLiga Genuine, organized by the Fundación 1890, will feature 50 teams and unfold across six cities in four phases.
Tournament schedule
The first event will be in Tarragona from November 19 to 22. Subsequently, the tournament will visit Tenerife and Pamplona (Osasuna's venue) between January 29 and 31, 2027. The third phase is set for Cádiz from April 9 to 11, with the grand final taking place in Madrid from June 11 to 13. This project represents a significant chapter in Sevilla FC's social commitment, aligned with the values of its foundation.
While the first team battles to maintain its sixth-place standing in La Liga, with 17 points from 11 games, the club extends its impact beyond the pitch. The senior side, with a record of five wins, two draws, and four losses this season, finds itself 13 points behind leaders Barcelona. Their last match was a 3-1 defeat at Getafe on Sunday 1 November, with their sole goal scored by Kike Salas. The senior side's next fixture is at home against 11th-placed Alavés this Friday 6 November, aiming to improve a recent run of two wins, one draw, and two defeats in their last five outings. During that spell, the team secured a 3-0 win over Hortaleza and a 2-0 victory against Osasuna, but also suffered a heavy 4-1 loss to Real Madrid.
The creation of Sevilla FC Genuine and its imminent participation show the club's social dimension. Training sessions at the sports city have been used to fine-tune final details before the trip to Tarragona. The team approaches this new adventure with the excitement of competition and the certainty of having the full backing of the institution, from the presidency to the supporters.
