Sevilla has discovered the oldest photo of a football match in Spain, a snapshot from 1890 showing Sevilla Football Club vs Huelva Recreation Club. The Sevilla FC History department has made this important discovery, which is also the oldest image of Spanish football. The photograph was taken in Huelva by Malaga photographer Baldomero Santamaría Moyano in the early 1890s. In it, in addition to Hugo MacColl, some of the protagonists have already been identified, from both Sevilla Football Club and Huelva Recreation Club and Riotinto English Club. Sevilla, coinciding with the 136th anniversary of the entity, has carried out the necessary procedures to be able to use this historic photograph and share it with the entire football world, especially with all Sevilla fans, who today find a new reason to be proud. The snapshot shows the players perfectly equipped for football practice, although not in a uniform manner. The Dundee Courier & Argus noted in its edition of March 17, 1890, that the players presented a motley appearance, with all kinds of costumes at their disposal. Sevilla Football Club has made it possible for this photograph to be known to all, and now it is an important part of the club's history. The Sevilla team has worked hard to preserve its history and share its achievements with fans. The photo is an example of the rich history of Sevilla Football Club and its importance in Spanish football. The club has been working on the restoration and conservation of the photograph so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.
