Sevilla FC have named an unchanged 24-man squad for their La Liga match away to Deportivo La Coruña on Wednesday. Manager Luis García Plaza keeps faith with the group that secured a 1-0 win over Valencia last time out, with the team sitting sixth in the table on 10 points.
The notable absences remain the same. Full-back Arouna Sangante, who served a suspension against Valencia after his red card versus Espanyol, continues to struggle with ankle issues. Forward Rubén Vargas is still out with an external meniscitis in his right knee. On his progress, García Plaza gave a medical update in his press conference. "We believe, I cannot tell you, but what we hear is that he is doing well and that in the three-week break he will do a mini pre-season and may be available for the return from the break, hopefully," the coach said.
The opponent, Deportivo, arrive unbeaten. "They are unbeaten because they are doing things very well," acknowledged García Plaza, whose side aim to build on their solid start. The win against Valencia, with a goal from Juan Iglesias, was their third victory in five matches. The target is now to pick up another away win ahead of next week's major fixture against leaders Barcelona.
The full squad list includes goalkeepers Odysseas and Fran González; defenders Rafa Romero, Juan Iglesias, Carmona, Kike Salas, Marcao, Castrín and Suazo; midfielders Iker Muñoz, Julio Díaz, Agoumé, Guridi, Fofana, Manu Bueno, Kochorashvili, Félix and Miguel Sierra; and forwards Ejuke, Alfon, Peque, Isaac, Robbie Ure and Stassin. The match at Riazor kicks off at 19:00.
