Federation’s Accusations
The San Fernando Peñas Federation has denounced Sevilla FC for attempting to isolate and divide its peñas. The statement, posted on social media, accuses the club of offering incentives to silence criticism. The Federation claims that the Board has consciously decided to bypass the association as the official interlocutor, aiming to curb the democratic voice of sevillismo.
Club’s Strategy
According to the Federation, the club has adopted a series of clientelistic tactics: club employees make direct phone calls to the peñas to try to fracture unity. Offers include free buses for children, arbitrary invitations, and the allocation of two seats in the Presidential Box to peña directors. The Federation describes these gestures as an attempt to “buy social peace with a trickle of improvised gifts.” The reason for this veto, according to the Federation, is fear of ongoing fan protests and the success of the large demonstration in June.
Call for Unity
The Federation demands that all its affiliated peñas immediately reject each of these offers. It reiterates that the peñas of Sevilla FC are the heart and moral reserve of the club, and that their loyalty is to the shield, never to the seats. The Federation states it cannot tolerate subservience and calls to preserve the club’s history, refusing to sell it for child buses or box seats. The Federation demands an immediate rejection of every offer, underscoring that unity and firmness are the response to institutional blackmail.
