Sevilla FC will be without up to six players during the October international break as they answer call-ups from their national teams. The absences will shape manager Luis García Plaza's preparations for the team's return to La Liga action away to Levante UD on 12 October.

Club analyst Antonio Borrego placed the break in context. "After the first seven matchdays of the championship, Sevilla FC go into the break as fifth in the table," he said. The Andalusian side sits fifth with 13 points from a start of four wins, one draw and two defeats, their most recent outing a 1-3 home loss to Barcelona.

The call-ups and their schedules

Chilean captain and left-back Gabriel Suazo will play three friendlies. Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos faces four UEFA Nations League League A fixtures, including matches against Germany and the Netherlands. Georgian midfielder Zuriko Kochorashvili, who has 26 caps, is set for four group games.

At youth level, goalkeeper Fran González joins the Spain Under-21 squad. David Gordo highlighted the importance of the call-up: "La Rojita aims to definitively seal qualification for next summer's Under-21 European Championship, well on track after seven wins in seven matches."

The club's new signings are also involved. Senegalese defender Arouna Sangante, who has yet to debut for the 'Lions of Teranga' due to prior physical issues, will play three friendlies. Scottish forward Robbie Ure received his first senior call-up and could make his debut in up to four matches.

Impact on the league return

The internationals have packed schedules, with some players rejoining the squad only the weekend before the trip to the Ciutat de València. This scenario forces Luis García Plaza to work with a reduced group for two weeks. The opponent, Levante, currently sits 17th, so Sevilla will aim to take points on the road to maintain their position in the upper reaches of the table.
